This is my philodendron plant from my father’s funeral. He died in 1987. It’s been through a move; knocked over and repotted; over-watered and under-watered; had lots of sun and very little sun. I’ve trimmed it back and I’ve also looped some of the vines back into the dirt and they take root. Through all that it not only lives, it thrives.
It is a good role model for us humans. It shows that with the right nourishment, determination and a little help from friends and loved ones, we can survive hard times. Life is precious – hold on to it as hard as you can. Never stop growing.
